Fifth grade inventors Bryce Boyer, Hugo Fleeger and Jackson Reever created a complex and creative board game, Titan Ladder, as a STEAM extension activity during math class. Over time the boys iterated the game tokens, playing board, and technical directions based upon their extensive play. Their teacher was so impressed with their detailed and creative game that she entered Titan Ladder in the CCIU’s Invention Convention Contest in April. Their entry was a video submission that explained the game and its development. In early May the boys learned they advanced to the semi-final round and had an opportunity to present their idea in person. The boys honed their sales pitch and looked very professional in their matching Titan Ladder shirts. They took first prize in the elementary division winning a huge trophy and $500. The boys did a fabulous job collaborating on this fun, creative project. We could not be prouder!!
